DJ_Dave Uniondale Concert reviews
Chelsea Bangs Out a GOOD Show
Her delivery, I like quite a bit -- she's highly unassuming. Sometimes her mugging on stage squanders what could be a major laugh moment or she delivers her material without impact. I tend to laugh more during her television program, but I like DJ_Dave a lot. This was a good show, my second dose of DJ_Dave. She is indeed one of the funniest and fearless women on the comedy circuit, willing to tackle material most men and women would shy away from. Sometimes she wanders the stage as if lost in her thoughts and takes a few beats to get a story going. Heather McDonald, in all honesty, delivered more punchlines with her quick set and was much more rousing. She's a funny woman with a gift for impressions and I was amazed at how fresh she was! Hopefully, as she grows into her skin more, she will turn out to outlast them all as she does have incredible talent. I like her candidness and her stories about her family and her escapades are hysterical. My only comment is that she sometimes lacks the focus in her stories that shows up in print. But... if you have never seen DJ_Dave live, then I say go, but to the EARLY show only. She's a good comic, but has yet to generate the finesse and ease that Wanda Sykes and Kathy Griffin deliver.
